Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Dr. Teodoro Herbosa led the inauguration of the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) Center at the Pilar Government Center on April 9, 2025.
The newly opened facility aims to provide immediate medical services without requiring hospital admission, offering a faster and more accessible healthcare option for every Bataeño.
DOH Sec. Dr. Herbosa lauded the medical chiefs of Bataan for their dedication and the successful implementation of various hospital service initiatives in the province.
Meanwhile, Governor Joet Garcia expressed his gratitude to Sec. Herbosa and all partners who supported the establishment of the new healthcare facility.
The BUCAS Center will provide services related to early detection and management of critical diseases such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), diabetes, and hypertension. These services are provided in close coordination with BGHMC, ensuring quality and efficient medical care.
Joining the event were Undersecretary of Health for North and Central Luzon Dr. Giann Matthew Baggao, BGHMC Medical Center Chief Dr. Glory Baltazar, DOH Region III Regional Director Dr. Corazon Flores, Cong. Abet Garcia, Congw. Gila Garcia, Pilar Mayor Charlie Pizarro, and other key health sector representatives.
